about
This is the first release from Ruth Haarland Band. This song was written as an ode to all those that have died at the hands of a gun. Inspired by the tragedies of public figures like Kurt Cobain and John Lennon but not limited to them.
Gun violence is a contemporary global human rights issue. Gun-related violence threatens our most fundamental human right, the right to life. It is a daily tragedy affecting the lives of individuals around the world. More than 500 people die every day because of violence committed with firearms.
lyrics
So you thought you had it all worked out
you told your mamma you would be a star
so you practiced every chance you had
it felt so natural when you held
your first guitar
and all your friends said you would go far
see the world, just like one of those superstars
and even though they'd seen it happen
so many times before
you never thought you'd end it
take yourself out
with a gun
with a family gun
and all your friends said you would go far
see the world, just like one of those superstars
and even though they'd seen it happen
so many times before
they never thought you'd end it
take yourself out
with a gun
with a family gun
